Jack's client
wanted a wall finish that looked like deteriorated crumbling Venetian
Plaster.
The method he
used is now taught at the Definitive School of Decorative Art.

High Quality Interior & Exterior Professional Painting Services
I have taken all of the available courses at “The Definitive School of the
Decorative Arts” in Southwest Houston in the last four years. This allows me to
offer my customers up to date unlimited choices of decorative finishes that can
be applied to walls, ceilings or woodwork. The school features my work on their
web site as an example of creating an Old World finish of Venetian plaster
looking like it has weathered over the centuries and is crumbling off of the
wall.
In my studio I have created over seventy unique sample
boards consisting of marble, stone, metallic, old world and contemporary texture
finishes. Also available is Venetian plaster, stencils, raised stencils,
antiquing, wood graining, gilding and metal simulation. Provide me with a
picture and I will duplicate it. Should a customer desire a mural, I have worked
with artists with unbelievable talent whom I can call on as needed.
Color preferences are very personal, especially as they are
expressed in the home. I am able to match or adjust any color on location with
an inventory of over sixty colors of tint from three different manufacturers.
I have had the opportunity to work with numerous
decorators. If a customer needs assistance choosing colors, I am more than happy
to spend the time helping so that whatever they are trying to achieve will look
the best it can. You have to love the finished product. That is my goal. A
sample is always made before work begins. I try to eliminate all speculation so
that you know exactly what is going to happen and what the finished product is
going to look like.
Faux finish repairs, drywall repairs, matching textures and
wood refinishing are areas in the painting field that I have mastered in the
last thirty years. All wall preparation and base painting is performed by me and
my colleague, Steve Schaffner, who has over thirty years in the painting
field. Steve’s artistic talent and creativity allows me to complete even the
most difficult job in a timely manner. When a job entails a lot of basic
painting, I have two subcontractors who I have been working with who know my
high standards of professionalism and what is expected of them.
I start every job by taking care of a customer’s property
like it is my own, covering furniture with plastic first before the drop cloths
so no dust will get on it. I try to contain dust as much as humanly possible.
Wood floors, tile floors and counter tops are covered with construction paper
one hundred percent so I can sweep and dust at the end of each day. All
equipment is returned to a designated area at the end of each day.
I work alongside my men and
women to ensure your complete satisfaction. This way, if changes need to be
made, they can be made right away so time and money isn’t wasted on doing things
over.
